The fog in Chandigarh really did us in today.
We were unable to fly to Jaipur due to heavy fog and all flights being cancelled . Of course we spent to the whole day trying to figure out what to do. I would say one of my biggest frustrations so far is that there is no such thing as a definite answer about anything. How long is the drive to Shimla? Some say 2 hours, some say 4 to 5. Ok, is our flight cancelled, no says the travel agent, yes says the concierge. Take a train says the travel desk, the travel agent (who happens to already been paid in full) says no trains available. Call the airlines, they say all flights for next three days sold out. Ummm, well we are supposed to have tickets on those flights but no we don't. Ahhhhhh. A day wasted, monies lost. Simple fact is, "it's no problem maam." They are right it is no problem for them but it is for us.
With our interest and money in Jaipur we decided to drive tomorrow morning to Dehli and then fly to Jaipur.
All along the planning of this trip we tried to keep travel to a minimum while still seeing a few things that screamed "see me" to us. We thought we could outsmart the normal system of driving everywhere and have little flights take us around. Well it turns out there is a reason that everyone just drives everywhere.
The girls continue to be adorable however, and like Lucy said today "mom, at least we are stuck here with Neha instead of being stuck home without her"
Kids will keep you straight. Kids will show you the beauty in all situations. Sometimes I just wish I could be a kid again.
Neha adores fruit. That is a constant. See her double fisting apples in the window. Cute I swear. She loves accessories. Bangles, purses, hair clips whatever. She is truely precious. What else matters?

Sorry to hear about your travel troubles. But your girls are adorable. :) And Neha just looks like a delight.
ReplyDeleteOh your sweet, accessory clad girl takes my breath away. Can you believe she's really yours? To love and hold forever? What a lovely sight she is, staring out the window, eating her apple in her fancy hat :) Glad to hear you'll make it Jaipur after all, we loved it! Emily
